If you could get into the mind of a monster, what would you find inside? There are numerous television shows on today which deal with this facinating topic. Series like Millennium and Profiler give a frightening picture inside the mind of the writers, but what of the stories they are based on? The true mass murderers loose out in the real world? As much as the idea of our benign kin appeal to us, we must also acknowledge those whose dark appetites range to the cruel and monsterous, those who the old legends of the vampire are based upon. Are these cretures supernatural? Doubtful. It is also in doubt as to whether they are human. Who can say what creates their kind? Who can say if they are misunderstood or evil kin, or if they are simply mad? These realities are glaring, blatant reminders of a past most kin would like to forget. But we must never do that, for the rememberance of evil is the only defense against its resurgence. Never forget, lest we become them ourselves...
