Although we know that the life blood is being sucked from the victim's throat, the deadly method of blood-letting has all the outward signs of a passionate embrace. The post-vampirization behavior of the female victims of Dracula's blood lust compounds this ambiguity. They are frequently shown awaiting Dracula's bite reclining languidly in bed, as if expecting a lover. |
